Wichita, meet Chris. He's a man of dynamic character and interests. Although he works at Classic Real Estate during the day, his passions lie with his family and friends... and travel.
Chris moved to Wichita from Rhode Island in 1995 and although he still visits frequently, he considers ICT home. He has a circle of friends he doesn't think he could find anywhere else, and a curiosity about business in Wichita he just can't seem to satisfy!
His most recent adventure? He and his sister traveled to Ireland over the summer. They spent a little over a week experiencing everything from the "comfort" of a hostile, to the genuine friendliness of the Irish after a few beers.
Read on to learn a little more about Chris.
Name? Chris Hitchcock
Age? 30
Title? Commercial Real Estate Agent.
Place of Employment Classic Real Estate, Inc.
Number of Years Employed there? 8 years.
Education? K-State.
Are you from Wichita? I moved to Wichita in 1995- my Junior year of High School- from Rhode Island. I love how nice the people here are!
What do you do in your spare time? I enjoy hanging out with friends and family… they tend to relax me! Oh yeah… and I love the Family Guy!
Who is one person you’d like to meet and why? I always like to meet new people no matter who they are. Everyone is unique in their own way. But I would have to say someone like Ted Turner or Warren Buffet… really anyone who has taken something from nothing and made it into a multi-million/billion dollar enterprise. I have met a few of these people and love to learn lessons from them.
What book are you reading? To be honest, I’m not reading anything at the moment. I have started a book about Jack Welch (former CEO of GE). Just haven’t had the time to continue reading. I get enough reading at work!
What was your first job? My first job was when I was 14 and I worked at a tree nursery/garden center.
What advice would you give to someone wanting to follow in your footsteps? Work hard. Hard work generally gets you far in life. Be courteous and helpful in anything and everything you do. It gets valuable people on your side including co-workers, friends, and family.
Do you have any pets? No pets currently.
If you had to live your life over again, what one thing would you change? Win the lottery…!! I have been very fortunate in my life. I have great family, great friends…have met a lot of different people…great co-workers. Not much for me to change.
If you won $50 million in the lottery, what would you do with the money? I would certainly invest. The economy needs boots right now and that is a good way to do it. I have always liked getting involved in high risk investments that especially help people out who wouldn’t otherwise have a way to get ideas formulated and companies started. Oh yeah, and of course buy a few luxury items that should come with that kind of money.
What 5 words describe you the best? Hard Working, Friendly, Generous, Funny, Interested.
Are you pursuing your dream? I don’t think a lot of people are pursuing their dreams. I would say in a perfect life I might be in music or something… however, I have reached some pretty big goals I have set for myself… so I’d say that is pretty close.
Are you a collector of anything? Music and movies. You name it, I’ve got it.
What is your taste in music? I pretty much like all kinds of music. My favorite is rock though.
Favorite childhood program? I always liked Looney Toons!
